Mrs. Cindy Winston » Welcome

I am thrilled to be starting my tenth year at Dearborn as the Resource Specialist. I began my teaching career 29 years ago. I am a proud product of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

I grew up in the inner city of Los Angeles. After graduating Dorsey High School, I attended CSUN earning my Bachelor’s Degree. I continue my dream goal and obtained my Teaching Credential followed by my Special Education Credential and Resource Specialist Certification. Always striving to better myself, I attended the University of La Verne and earned a Master’s Degree in Education and an Administrator’s Credential.

I have taught in high performing schools, low performing schools, and everything in between. These experiences have given me the insight and understanding that children all have the same basic needs; to be accepted, treated with dignity, and loved. When a child knows you truly care, they will work twice as hard to achieve.

My philosophy is there is much more to teaching than the three R's. Children need to be nurtured, accepted and respected. A warm smile goes a long way.
